This was the product of the course I taught on broadcast journalism through American University’s Discover, a summer communications program for high schoolers.
I met with the line producer from a Baton Rouge-based production company for a grip position on a feature. Production is supposed to start in three weeks. Crew is being gathered at the moment. They should contact me in the next week to meet with the key grip and work out crew details.
I submitted a listing with the New Orleans Office of Film and Video. I also directly inquired through email about the best way to start working. The reply I received was helpful, but not terribly insightful.
I’m making it a point to regularly consult Solomon Street Films and get listed there.
I’m staying in New Orleans at the moment. I figured that if I’m not working, I might as well be not-working in the place where I plan to be working. The lack of self-amusements will help focus my energy. I haven’t been writing or shooting, and I stupidly forgot my camera.
